{"id":1126,"date":"2016-03-01T21:58:10","date_gmt":"2016-03-01T21:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.celebrateayni.com\/?page_id=1126"},"modified":"2016-03-05T22:48:05","modified_gmt":"2016-03-05T22:48:05","slug":"portfolio-peru-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.celebrateayni.com\/?page_id=1126","title":{"rendered":"CHILDREN FESTIVAL- FESTININO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>5 years in The Sacred Valley, 2 years in Cusco &#8211; Peru<\/p>\n<p>VISION: <i>To provide a day when children of The Sacred Valley of the Incas in Per\u00fa can play to their hearts\u2019 content, experience joy, and receive a positive message that feeds their souls.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The idea for the Children\u2019s Festival was initiated by Jose Marroquin, who lives in Grants Pass Oregon; he returns to the Sacred Valley each year to promote a variety of children\u2019s projects. The festival is, for the most part funded by donations from the United States, and is organized by local residents and the congregation from the Misi\u00f3n America Church in Urubamba. Volunteers from local organizations are actively involved as well. Activities include: face painting, puppetry, soccer, crafts, search-and-rescue, police, fire, and health department demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>In 2003, we inaugurated the first Children\u2019s Festival in the town of Urubamba. An annual event now, this festival provides joyful fun along with health and educational opportunities, to hundreds of children of the Sacred Valley of the Incas (900 plus attended in 2004).
